Motor-less cycle events slated for Northwest Arkansas this weekend

If you're already tired of the traffic and noise from Bikes, Blues and BBQ , you're not alone.

    • There are several opportunities to engage with the less aggressive — and far quieter — two-wheelers this weekend.

    Bike-a-Palooza

Touted to be "one of Arkansas' biggest cycling events of the year," Bike-a-Palooza will be held Friday through Sunday at the Coler Mountain Bike Park campground in Bentonville.

    • At least 15 cycling clubs and more than 2,000 members are expected to attend.
    • Gravel, mountain bike and Greenway rides are planned.

Showing up is free but cranking it on one of the many organized rides requires registration that starts at $25.

    Fall Square to Square

The 32-mile ride from Bentonville to Fayetteville (it's reversed in the spring) starts at 7am on Saturday. It begins at the Sam's Club Home Office and ends at Walker Park .

    • Registration closed on Wednesday, but there are parties at both ends for riders, and you likely won't be discouraged from tagging along if you want; you'll just forfeit the t-shirt.

    Kessler Mountain Jam

The competitive rides , part of the Arkansas Mountain Bike Championship Series , are scheduled to start at 8am Sunday at Kessler Regional Park in Fayetteville.

Registration starts at $30 depending on the category, and must be submitted by 5pm Saturday.
