Many Pennsylvania seniors work past 65

Nearly 19% of Pennsylvanians 65-and-up were in the workforce last year, per preliminary 2023 census data.

The big picture: The 2024 presidential rematch between President Biden and former President Trump has sparked a fresh conversation about age, ability and mental acuity.

Zoom out: It's more common these days for older Americans to stay in the workforce, especially in states with older populations.

Nationally, 18.7% of adults 65 or over are still working.
