    Philly Weekender: Folk festival, vegan treats and jazz

    🎞️ The Women's Film Festival kicks off Thursday. Check out over two dozen flicks, events and programs over 10 days.


    🚶 Browse the best Brewerytown has to offer during the Sidewalk Social tonight from 6-8pm.

    • The mini-festival will showcase vendors, local businesses and performances at 26th Street and Girard Avenue.

    Explore the waterfront estate of Glen Foerd in Northeast Philly tonight from 6-8:30pm.

    • Count on arts and crafts, live music by Samantha Rise and lawn games. Don't forget a blanket and lawn chairs.

    🛍️ Mayfair is putting on a family-friendly summer night market tonight from 6-9pm at Cottman and Frankford avenues. Expect food trucks, vendors and music by Philly Heart & Soul .

    🪕 The Philadelphia Folk Festival returns to Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township after a year off. Check out dozens of bands, including headliners John Oates and Gangstagrass, take the stage. Friday-Sunday. Ticket prices vary .

    🥬 Vegandale takes over the Navy Yard on Saturday. Billed as the ultimate vegan destination, hundreds of vendors offer the newest plant-based options, interactive art exhibits, and musical performances.

    🇮🇳 Take in the Festival of India on the waterfront on Saturday. Cherry Street Pier will have plenty of vendors offering Indian-style cuisine — think dosa and vada pav — plus music, shopping and performances from 2-8pm.

    • Then, on Sunday, the Caribbean Festival takes place on Cherry Street and Race Street Piers from noon-8pm.

    🐕 Pamper your four-legged best friend at Manayunk's Dog Day of Summer on Saturday. Pet-friendly vendors and activities can be found on Main Street from 11am-4pm.

    🎷 Jazz on the Ave returns to North Philly on Saturday from noon-8:30pm. The day will feature Lydia Hilliard Experience and Rated Art, together with a drumline performance by Mad Beatz Philly on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between Broad and 17th streets.
