Brace yourself, Philly: "The Boss" plays for hours

When you're "The Boss," you call the shots.

The big picture: For Philadelphians heading to Wednesday's Bruce Springsteen concert at Citizens Bank Park, expect a longer show and dozens of hit songs.

    • "The Boss" is famous for putting on marathon shows spanning three to four hours and encompassing more than 30 songs.

Driving the news: Springsteen and the E Street Band are playing a second show Friday at 7:30pm.

    • The concerts are make-up dates after Springsteen canceled last year's Philly shows because of illness .

The intrigue: Springsteen played his second-longest show (4 hours, 4 minutes) in Philadelphia in September 2016, per concert statistic tracker MyBossTime .

    • It was a minute shy of a concert he put on in Helsinki, Finland, years before.

What they're saying: Grammy-winning musician Paul McCartney told People that few artists performed that long before Springsteen popularized it.

    • "I've told him … 'It's your fault,'" McCartney said. "We used to do a half hour. That was The Beatles' thing – half an hour, and we got paid for it."

If you go: Tickets are still available for both shows.
