New Philly beer company Space Cadet Brewing set to launch

Philadelphia's newest craft brewery is launching next month.

Why it matters: Space Cadet Brewing Company will become the latest to join the city's growing beer scene.

Driving the news: The brewery is headed by Richie Tevlin, a classically trained brewer whose worked at Victory Brewing Company and Philadelphia Brewing Company

What's on tap: Pale ale at 5.5% ABV with hints of citrus and honey is the brewery's inaugural beer.

• You can find 16-ounce cans at certain retail stores as well as on tap at certain bars and restaurants in the region starting the second week of October.
• Look for where to get the beer on the company's website and social media in the coming weeks.

The intrigue: Tevlin tells Axios he is brewing in single, small batch one-offs, which he won't repeat again.

• He is planning to release a new beer monthly.

What to watch: A launch party for the new beer is set for Nov. 1 at Brewerytown's Boozy Mutt .

• Tevlin says he hopes to open a taproom and production facility in the region.
