There's a surefire way for Nick Sirianni and the Eagles to get back into fans' good graces: Just win — and do it now.

The big picture: Sirianni has promised to "reprove" himself after keeping his job following last season's epic collapse.

    • He reshuffled his coaching staff, adding new offensive and defensive coordinators.
    • The team also added explosive running back Saquon Barkley in the offseason and inked star WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith to long-term contracts.

State of play: Led by QB Jalen Hurts , the Eagles should have one of the NFL's most potent offenses when they open the season Friday against Green Bay.

    • The game figures to be a quarterback battle: The Packers have their new franchise QB in Jordan Love. The highest-paid QB in the league threw for more than 4,700 yards and 35 touchdowns last season.
    • Hurts still put up a career-high in passing yards and went to the Pro Bowl despite enduring some struggles last season.

Who to watch: The capable Cam Jurgens, who takes the place of retired center Jason Kelce .

    • The Eagles are also excited about the possibilities with Barkley in the backfield. The Pro Bowler rushed for more than 1,300 yards twice and scored 10 touchdowns three times during his time with the rival Giants.

What they're saying: Barkley told reporters they'll get a better sense of his skill set in the Eagles offense.

    • "Not trying to sound cocky — the tape speaks for itself," he says.

Threat level: The Eagles added some pieces in the offseason to try to shore up their embattled secondary. They re-signed C.J. Gardner-Johnson and drafted corner Quinyon Mitchell.

    • New defensive coordinator Vic Fangio does a good job of mixing up his defense to confuse opposing quarterbacks.

But it's up to Sirianni to ensure the team overcomes the fissures that divided the locker room last season.

What's ahead: The Eagles square off against six playoff teams this year, including the Packers.

    • The home opener against is Sept. 16 against the Atlanta Falcons. Kickoff at 8:15pm.
