Philadelphia returns to the political spotlight for Tuesday's presidential debate at the National Constitution Center.

Why it matters: The debate site in Old City reinforces Philly's outsized role in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania this November election.

Driving the news: Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump take the stage at 9pm.

    • The 90-minute debate, hosted by ABC News, will have two commercial breaks, no live audience, and no live microphones.
    • Debate moderators are "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir and ABC News Live "Prime" anchor Linsey Davis.

📺 How to watch: ABC News will broadcast the debate live, along with other networks, including Fox News.

    • Stream on ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.

⏳ How it works: Candidates will have two minutes to respond to questions and rebuttals.

    • They'll get an extra minute for any follow-ups.

🗣️ Zoom in: A coin flip that Trump won last week earned him the privilege of choosing either podium placement or closing statement order, ABC News reported .

    • Trump chose to close last. Harris will stand at the podium on the right side of the screen.

⚠️ The area around the museum is locked down for the debate with several roads closed . Fencing and concrete barriers are in place.

    • Philadelphia police are working with several agencies to ensure security for the debate, a police spokesperson tells Axios.

Zoom out: Pennsylvania is the top prize among the seven swing states that will decide who wins the White House.

What's ahead: Philly election officials are expected to start sending out mail-in ballots in the coming weeks.
