Tesla Cybertrucks' small but mighty presence in Pennsylvania

I've been spotting Tesla's unconventional Cybertrucks in the wild around Philadelphia in recent weeks.

    • I've seen them cruising on Kelly Drive and in Northwest Philly.

The big picture: The Cybertruck appears to be gaining popularity: It surpassed the Ford F-150 Lighting as America's most popular electric pickup truck in May, vehicle registration data shows.

    • In Pennsylvania, Cybertrucks still make up a small share of vehicles, with just 448 registered across the state, per Pennsylvania Department of Transportation data through Aug. 26.

Zoom in: Most are in the 10 counties that make up Southeast Pennsylvania (61%).

🔎 The intrigue: Montgomery County has the most Cybertruck registrations among Pennsylvania counties — 60.

🧮 By the numbers: Bucks County has the second-highest number of registrations with 54, followed by:

    • Chester County: 42
    • Allegheny County: 35
    • Delaware County: 25

Meanwhile, 17 trucks are registered in Philly.

💰 Cost: Cybertrucks currently start at $93,990 , per Tesla's website.
