What a Sixers Camden arena could look like

We now know what a potential Sixers arena in Camden could look like.

Why it matters: New Jersey officials want to sell the Sixers and its fans on the idea of relocating across state lines, and the team has said it's taking all options seriously.

Driving the news: The independent New Jersey Economic Development Authority released a rendering Friday of a potential 76ers arena plan on the Delaware River waterfront.

Zoom in: Per the authority's concept, the arena could sit north of the Ben Franklin Bridge on the former site of a state prison beside Cooper's Poynt Park.

    • The plan includes green space and multiuse buildings for housing, restaurants and office space, NJEDA CEO Tim Sullivan said in a statement.

What they're saying: Moving the team to Camden could "spur greater economic activity and a bustling, revitalized neighborhood," he said.

    • 76 DevCo , the Sixers' developer on the arena project, did not immediately return a request for comment.

State of play: The Sixers' plans for a $1.5 billion arena in Philly's Market East neighborhood that was proposed more than two years ago is at a critical point.

    • Mayor Cherelle Parker's administration is finishing required legislation for the project while holding town hall meetings on the arena.
    • Parker has yet to weigh in on whether she supports or opposes the arena.

If Parker sends legislation to City Council , that will kick off high-stakes hearings and debates.

    • A vote could be possible before the end of the year.

Behind the scenes: New Jersey's top officials recently pitched tax credits for the Sixers worth up to $800 million to relocate and build their new home court in Camden.
