Scott Crawford releases new renderings of Cary steakhouse at Fenton

It's been in the works for years, but acclaimed Raleigh chef Scott Crawford's first outpost in Cary is expected to open this fall.

The latest: On Tuesday, Crawford released the first renderings of the highly anticipated Crawford Brothers Steakhouse, which will be one of the flagship restaurants at the Fenton development in Cary.

What to expect: The restaurant, designed by Raleigh-based Mauer Architecture, will be his hospitality group's largest restaurant to date, with room to seat up to 120 guests.

• Crawford describes the new restaurant as celebrating the nostalgic tradition of a steakhouse — with an emphasis on cuts of dry-aged beef and cocktails — mixed with a modern design.
• The restaurant's dining room will feature multiple floor-to-ceiling windows, giving diners views of both the outside and into the kitchen.
• It will also have an extensive wine library on display as well as a private room that can be rented.
• Like his other recently opened restaurant Brodeto at Raleigh Iron Works, Crawford Brothers will feature artwork from Raleigh artist Thomas Sayre .

The big picture: It's been a busy year for Crawford and his hospitality group.

• In addition to opening Brodeto, he was a finalist for a James Beard award , opened a new bar on Person Street and is preparing to open a restaurant at Raleigh-Durham International Airport .
