Virginia artist Shaboozey is the sound of ACC college football

Virginia native and Billboard chart-topper Shaboozey is the new sound of ACC college football.

Why it matters: We love Virginians doing awesome things, even if they are from NoVa.

State of play: ESPN recently announced that Shaboozey's " Last of My Kind " is the network's "brand anthem" for its ACC college football coverage.

• UVA and Virginia Tech play in the ACC, along with other colleges nobody cares about because they don't come from the same state as the man behind " A Bar Song (Tipsy) ."
• Tech and UVA's logos also feature prominently in ESPN's anthem clip .

What they're saying: "The track underscores the unique spirit of ACC Football, highlighting the traditions, rivalries, and community that define game day experiences," ESPN said in a statement.

• "Hailing from Woodbridge, Va., within the ACC footprint, Shaboozey brings his distinctive Virginia tonality to the anthem."

What's next: Shaboozey is now on tour . He'll play the 9:30 Club in D.C. on Sept. 21 and 23 and JPJ in Charlottesville on Oct. 30.
