6 awesome things to do in Richmond this weekend, including the Folk Fest and State Fair

Awesome things to do in Richmond just don't stop in the fall. This weekend brings the Folk Festival, State Fair and more to town.

Friday

🪕 Richmond Folk Festival is back, and early this year, its 20th anniversary.

• The free festival runs through Sunday with dozens of performers across five stages, more than 30 food vendors, tons of beer and wine options and crafts and events for kids . Free.
• Be sure to peep the new layout this year; two of the stages are in different places due to amphitheater construction. There will also be two free shuttles running within the festival.

🎡 The State Fair of Virginia kicks off Friday and keeps going through the weekend and next week at Meadow Event Park.

• Tickets start at $10.50, and unlimited ride wristbands are $22.50.

🤣 Comedian Kevin Hart is bringing his "Acting My Age" to Altria Friday and Saturday. 7:30pm. Tickets start at $75.

• Note: The shows are device-free, so attendees who bring them in will have to put them in a locked pouch.

Saturday

🫓 The Festival of India brings together the fantastic food, culture, clothes and jewelry of India for two days at the Convention Center.

• Did we mention the food? You can check out dozens of food vendors and sample all types of dishes from across the country. Saturday and Sunday beginning at 11am. Free.

🛍️ Mystic Markets will be popping up on the second story of The Veil Brewing on Forest Hill. Noon-5pm.

• Go for the local vendors and shopping, stay for the tequila and tacos .

Sunday

🚛 BonAirpalooza Food Truck Fest is shaping up to be a mini food festival in the Bon Air Baptist Church parking lot. 11am- 1:30pm.
