Gordon Ramsay's first Virginia restaurant to open this year

Gordon Ramsay is opening his first restaurant in Virginia.

The big picture: The celebrity multi-Michelin-starred chef, known for his sass and cooking shows like "Hell's Kitchen," is bringing Ramsay's Kitchen to Danville.

Zoom in: The menu will include Ramsay's most famous dish, the beef Wellington, pan-seared scallops, Virginia oysters, jumbo crab cakes and sticky chicken wings, according to the release.

    • But stay tuned for their breakfast options, which are in the works.

Between the lines: The chef has a history with Caesars, including a "Hell's Kitchen" restaurant in front of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

    • On Tuesday, he called their partnership "a fan favorite time and time again."
    • "I'm beyond excited to continue that here in the Commonwealth of Virginia by sharing my take on global cuisine," Ramsay said.

What's next: It's about a 3-hour drive from Richmond to Danville, and there's no specific opening date yet.

    • If you can't wait (or drive) that long for a Gordon Ramsay beef Wellington, you can take a swing at his recipe online.

Fun fact: Ramsay visited Richmond restaurant Southern Kitchen in fall 2019 for his "24 Hours to Hell and Back" show.

    • He showed up dressed as a woman in church clothes, complete with a stuffed bra, a blonde wig and a wide-brimmed hat.
