    9 things to do in Richmond on this warm-weather weekend

    Warmer weather returns this weekend, making it a perfect one to get outside and soak it in before Richmond actually gets cold.

    Thursday

    🔆 Maymont's Garden Glow event, which brings light sculptures and an illuminated Japanese Garden to the park after dark, is back running every night except Mondays through Nov. 10. Nightly after sundown. $18 for adults includes access to a festival area with fire pits, beverages and food.

    👍 Fonzie, aka Henry Winkler, is in town promoting and talking about his new children's book, "Detective Duck: Case of the Missing Tadpole," at Louis F. Ryan Recital Hall at St. Christopher's School . 6:30pm. $15.89, which includes a copy of the book.

    • He'll be at Watkins Elementary in Chesterfield earlier in the day.

    Friday

    🇩🇪 Richmond Oktoberfest , our most German of German fests with its full German bakery, plus beer, German fare and music, is on at Meadow Event Park, 6-11pm Friday and 3-11pm on Saturday. $18.

    ☯️ The Richmond Tattoo & Arts Festival showcases the latest in tattoo trends and draws artists from across the country for three days of demonstrations and competitions, plus food and drinks for sale. Friday-Sunday at the Midlothian DoubleTree; tickets start at $33.

    Saturday

    🌮 The Richmond Taco, Beer, Tequila Festival , which dubs itself the city's biggest taco festival with 15 taco trucks and four margarita stations, returns to Kanawha Plaza, 11am-6pm. Tickets start at $25; $45 if you want food and margarita tickets included.

    ☄️ Big Bounce America , that massive touring village of bounce houses , kicks off the first of its two-weekend run at Iron Bridge Sports Park in Chester for the weekends of Oct. 19 and Oct. 26. $22-$45.

    🎃 Scott's Addition Pumpkin Festival is back with its celebration of pumpkins, costumes, street drinking and Scott's Addition. Noon-6pm at Bon Secours Training Center/Midtown Green. Free.

    🪩 Oregon Hill Fall Block Party takes over Open High with food art, music, merch and more. 11am-3pm. Free.

    Sunday

    📚 The Book Bundler , a new bulk book warehouse sale store , is having its grand opening and a big sale at 215 E. German School Road on Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm. Free. Books are 50 cents-$2.
