    How to celebrate 801 Day

Thursday is Aug. 1, or 801 Day — the same digits as our area code!

Why it matters: Our area code is a significant part of Salt Lake's culture and heritage, and it's just an excuse to party.

Here are some ways to make the most of this special day:

🦍 Hogle Zoo is opening 59 minutes early — at 8:01am — and is offering tickets for just $8.01. Order them online .

    • Look for special celebrations and activities, as it's also the 93rd anniversary of the zoo's opening.

🎶 KRCL is featuring Utah music all day, with special guests from around the community.

    • Tune in to 90.9FM.

🍻 Party tonight with our friends from City Cast Salt Lake at Second Summit Cider in Millcreek.

    • Enjoy a new pear rhubarb cider, play pickleball and chow down on food from local eateries.
    • Tickets cost $5 plus fees, and proceeds go toward Seven Canyons Trust's efforts to improve the Folsom Trail.
