Utahns should expect some delays this Labor Day weekend, state transportation officials say.

State of play: Delays of up to 15 minutes in Salt Lake County or up to 10 minutes in Davis County on I-15 between 3pm–6pm on Friday. Near Nephi on I-15 you may encounter up to 20 minutes of delays from 3pm–8pm.

    • On Monday, westbound U.S. 6 will see up to 30-minute delays between 1–7pm.
    • Domestic travel nationally is projected to increase by 9% compared to last year, per AAA .

The latest: UDOT will pause most construction projects to alleviate traffic on the busy holiday weekend.

Fun fact: You can expect less pain at the pump. As of Thursday, the average gallon of gas in Utah was about $3.60 , about 70 cents cheaper than this time last year, according to AAA.
