It's not the end of the world if you didn't snag a ticket to the Utah Hockey Club's first-ever season opener.

State of play: The team is throwing a free watch party Tuesday outside the Delta Center.

    Here's a timeline of what's happening:

4pm: Live music, free games and hockey activities will commence. Fans can buy the team's merch or head straight to the food trucks or beer garden.

5pm: A "mountain blue carpet" will roll out for the team as they greet fans and head inside the arena.

6:30pm: Fighter jets will fly over the arena and plaza, operated by pilots from Hill Air Force Base.

The ice will light up on two big screens when doors open to ticketed fans, with the game slated to start at 8pm.

Before you go: Expect road closures near the Delta Center.

    • South Temple will be partially closed between 400 West and 300 West.
    • 300 West will be closed between South Temple and 100 South.
    • 100 South will be partially closed between 300 West and 400 West until noon on Oct. 9.
