    Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day in Salt Lake

    Monday is Indigenous Peoples Day , and there are several celebrations in Salt Lake.


    Cheer the runners : Clients of the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake will embark on a 5K run-walk on the Jordan River Parkway in honor of the day.

    • Where: You can cheer them on at the start, near 13400 South in Draper.
    • When: 8:30-9am Saturday

    Join the festival : Food, activities, music and other performances will fill Millcreek Common in a free celebration for Utah's Indigenous communities.

    • When: 6-8pm Saturday

    Indigenous art market : The Natural History Museum of Utah will feature jewelry, pottery, beadwork and other pieces by some of the region's top Indigenous artists.

    • When: 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday

    Support the MoccWalk : American Indian Services' annual scholarship fundraiser is accepting donations online before the walkers hit the trail, some in traditional footwear. The money goes toward scholarships and educational programs for Native American students.

    • When: 4-6pm Monday
    • Where: Wardle Fields Regional Park, Bluffdale
