San Francisco weekend events: Seafood boil, neon bending and more

We're nearing the end of summer. Come soak in the sun while the temperatures still allow for it!

• Here are a few events to check out.

Thursday

🎷 Immerse yourself in Mae Powell's jazz vocals as she performs vintage gems inspired by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.

• 12:30-1:30pm at the Yerba Buena Gardens' Great Lawn. Free.

Friday

🎤 Enjoy stand-up from some of the Bay Area's up-and-coming comedians while watching the sun set by the Oakland waterfront. There will also be art exhibitions and an after-dark party.

• 6pm at Quinn's Lighthouse. The comedy show is free but tickets cost $20 for the entire event.

Saturday

🎶 Participate in Stern Grove Festival's two-day farewell fundraiser as it closes out its summer season. Sylvan Esso will perform with opener Poolside on Saturday, while Chaka Khan takes the stage on Sunday.

• Doors open at noon Saturday and Sunday at Stern Grove. Free.

🎨 Explore the art of neon bending and other exhibitions at the SF Museum of Craft and Design's annual Free Summer Weekend .

• 10am-5pm Saturday and noon-5pm Sunday at the Museum of Craft and Design. Free.

Sunday

🦀 Indulge in Gumbo Social's outdoor, all-you-can-eat seafood boil . The recipe includes shrimp, baby potatoes, corn and smoked sausage, all of which are topped with Old Bay, Cajun seasoning and butter.

• Noon-2pm at the Outer Sunset Farmers Market. Tickets start at $48.53, though single portions are available for $32.78.

🦁 Swing by SF Chinatown for a family block party that will include lion dance performances, face painting, magic shows and games.

• 11:30am-2:30pm at Grant Avenue between Sacramento and Clay. Free.
