Portugal. The Man set to play free September concert in Civic Center

Outside Lands is over but the music isn't stopping in San Francisco.

State of play: Portugal. The Man is slated to play a free concert at Civic Center Plaza on Sept. 20.

• It's part of Another Planet Entertainment's deal with the city to put on three free concerts every year for three years in exchange for producing additional paid concerts in Golden Gate Park following Outside Lands.
• The first free concert took place in July at the Embarcadero Plaza, followed by a paid concert featuring the legendary System of a Down in Golden Gate Park last weekend .
