Florida's final disaster supply sales-tax holiday of the year starts Saturday and runs through Sept. 6.

Why it matters: Hurricane season is ramping up , and even indirect hits can bring devastating flooding and damage, as the Tampa Bay area just saw with Tropical Storm Debby .

    • Preparing now can save you time, money and stress.

Zoom in: The Florida Division of Emergency Management created a disaster supplies kit checklist that includes food and water, first aid supplies, insurance documents, flashlights, batteries and medicine.

    • You can find almost everything at your local Walmart. Yacob managed to find 30 items on the list for under $200.
    • Travel-sized food bowls for pets, portable power banks and self-powered radios are eligible tax-free items. You can find a complete list here .

What they're saying: "The final disaster sales tax holiday for this year's hurricane season could not come at a better time as we enter the historical peak of hurricane activity," said Kevin Guthrie, executive director of FDEM.

    • "The time to prepare is now."
