We tried it: Bloomington's Scramblin' Egg breakfast burrito

We checked out Scramblin' Egg , the Bloomington breakfast food truck that recently won a city-funded "Shark Tank"-style small business competition.

Why it matters: The Hatch Bloomington prize will fund Scramblin' Egg's move out of their mobile kitchen to a brick-and-mortar space by next spring.

Why it matters what I think: Living in Los Angeles for seven years made me a breakfast burrito snob .

What's inside: A really good burrito.

    • As glowing February review from Instagram foodie Tony Cu noted, Scramblin' Egg doesn't skimp on the eggs, which are fluffy and fresh-scrambled.

If you go: Be forewarned that there is no standard sandwich, quinoa bowl or burrito. Just like at Qdoba or Chipotle, you select all your fillings .

    • I went with bacon, jalapeños and the "Scramblin' Sauce."

Fun fact: Peterson — the duo's recipe mastermind — said he crafted a chicken option at the request of a customer who doesn't eat pork.

    • The chicken is now his favorite of Scramblin' Egg's meats.
