    Restaurant roundup: Heather's and Parlour expand to the suburbs, Sammy's Avenue Eatery returns

    Parlour's beloved smash burgers are headed to the suburbs.

    What's happening: The Twin Cities bar also known for its popular burger food truck is opening a new location in downtown Excelsior alongside two new restaurants by ownership group Jester Concepts .


    • Parlour Bar will open in the basement of the former Bull & Wren building this fall, Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine reports .
    • No word yet on the other concepts, but Jester owner Brent Frederick said it hopes to open before 2025.

    🧋 94 Bubbles , a bubble tea shop that's the product of Five Watt Coffee and Sencha Tea Bar's recent merger, soft-launched Monday in Five Watt's Lyndale Avenue South location.

    • It's open 10:30am - 2:30pm all week, per its Instagram .

    ☕️ Third Space Cafe in Lyn-Lake will permanently close its doors when its lease ends in October.

    • Owners cited the "increasingly challenging time for small businesses in the industry, the neighborhood, and the city" in a social media post .

    🍗 Tender Lovin' Chix , the food truck run by the teams behind Billy Sushi and shuttered fried chicken restaurant CHX opened its brick-and-mortar restaurant in the former Fire & Nice Ale House on Monday, owners told Axios.

    🏈 Daniel del Prado's newest concept Dexter's, which is advertised as a "refined dining experience for sports enthusiasts," opened Monday just off 50th & France in Edina, per Bring Me The News .

    😋 Popular neighborhood eatery Heather's is expanding to the suburbs. The new restaurant in Minnetonka will be much larger, per the Star Tribune , with a menu that includes some of the most beloved nightly specials in Minneapolis.

    • Expect an October grand opening.

    🇻🇳 Vietnamese pop-up Khue's Kitchen 's upcoming brick-and-mortar location on University Avenue was destroyed in a fire last Monday — just a few weeks before it was set to open, per Bring Me The News .

    • No one was hurt in the fire, said chef/owner Eric Pham, who started a GoFundMe to support staff and recoup some of his investment.

    🥪 Sammy's Avenue Eatery is back. The North Minneapolis sandwich shop shuttered in April after the sudden passing of owner Sammy McDowell but has reopened under the guidance of McDowell's family, according to WCCO News .

    🍝 Lynette , the café and full-service restaurant from the team behind Lyn65, is now open in the former Riverview Wine Bar and Cafe space, per its social media.

    • Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended for dinner service.
