Indigenous Peoples Day isn't until Monday, but you can celebrate Indigenous Minnesota culture early with live music, food and art at Owámni: Falling Water Festival on Saturday.

Zoom in: The festival on the banks of the Mississippi River will feature dozens of Indigenous artists, organizations, entertainers and food vendors, including the popular Tatanka Food Truck from The Sioux Chef.

    • The event is named after what the Dakota called the area at St. Anthony Falls. It means "whirling or falling water," according to organizers.

Details: Saturday, Oct. 12 from 1-5pm at Mill Ruins Park and Water Works Park. Free!
