A pedestrian was killed while crossing U.S. Highway 701 Saturday night near Bucksport. South Carolina Highway Patrol corporal Nick Pye said a pedestrian was struck and killed while trying to cross U.S. Highway 701 near Sing Avenue. Pye said that at about 8:16 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, the pedestrian was traveling west across 701 when a Kia sedan traveling north on the highway struck the pedestrian.
