Campfires prohibited across BLM's Northwest Oregon District
Starting July 23, campfires will be prohibited on all Bureau of Land Management public lands throughout the Northwest Oregon District. BLM leaders encourage all visitors to be aware of active restrictions and closures as hotter, drier weather sets in around the Pacific Northwest. High court upholds law criminalizing homelessness, making things worse

One dead after shooting in Grants Pass
GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- A 24-year-old man from Grants Pass man died after a shooting in the 1400 block of Rogue River Highway. According to a news release from the Grants Pass Police Department today, the shooting happened at about 9:19 p.m. on July 19. Police received "multiple emergency calls" about the shooting and found the victim -- later identified as Jose Regalado -- dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
