Police investigating Gilbert man for exposing himself to 14-year-old girl

Authorities are investigating allegations a man indecently exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl in Maricopa.The incident occurred on the afternoon of Aug. 15 near Bedford Drive and Rancho El Dorado Parkway, according to a City of Maricopa press release. Maricopa police began an investigation and, after multiple leads, zeroed in on a Gilbert man. The alleged victim is a Maricopa High School student.

The man was located and contacted on Aug. 16 by police, but an arrest was not made due to "insufficient evidence," the news release stated.

Police and the Pinal County Attorney's Office are still pursuing "appropriate criminal charges" against the suspect.

Police said they believe this was an isolated incident.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at 520-568-3673.
