Star Phoenix Suns combo guard Devin Booker and Nike have come together to release the Nike Book 1 Leather "Python" basketball shoes.

The kicks were released Thursday as promised, and released in the Light Orewood Brown colorway (light Orewood brown/black/white). The shoes can be bought via Nike SNKRS , as well as some other select retailers both on the web and in-store. The 'Python' design is an ode to Nike's Air Python, which debuted in 1987 .

The Air Python has a snakeskin print with a faux python texture. The Air Python is included in Booker's lifestyle kicks rotation, and these Book 1s indeed have that snakeskin print all over the leather, coated with that python texture. On Thursday, the Phoenix Suns welcomed the shoes to the world by posting a video of Booker handing out (and in some cases hiding) shoes around the world:

Many of these clips from the video are recognizable to fans who followed along with Booker hiding pairs in and around Paris when he was there for the 2024 Paris Olympics . He also found fans to gift the shoes to beyond even hiding pairs around the city, and signed a pair of Books that a fan he saw even had on him. Of course, they are considered "Phoenix inspired" due to the desert theme associated with the snakeskin and python texture, along with fitting colors.

Booker is coming off his second All-NBA season — as he shot 49.2% from the field, 36.4% from beyond the arc, and 88.6% from the charity stripe this past year. That field goal percentage was a career-high in seasons where he has played in 54 or more games, as was his points per game average (27.1) and assists per game average (6.9). Making his fourth All-Star team, he also averaged 27.5 points per game in the postseason with a career-high 1.8 postseason steals per game.
