Is it time to officially end the stale height jokes and unfounded video game criticism of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray ?

After Murray's impressive start to the season, one NFL Network analyst says it's past time for people to stop disrespecting the QB.

The analyst, Kyle Brandt, made an impassioned plea Monday for the criticism of Murray to stop.

“For the aggregators, for the content creators, for the podcasters, for the tweeters, Kyler Murray is no longer yours to kick around. I’m sorry,” the "Good Morning Football" host said. “You’re going to have to find a new joke. It’s over guys. You’ve been feasting on this guy for two years, three years. The buffet's closed. No more. He's no joke.

"Kyler Murray annihilated the Los Angeles Rams and if you're going to say, 'Well the Rams had all these injuries,' Cooper Kupp being hurt had nothing to do with how Kyler Murray played and neither did the Rams' offensive line."

Kyler Murray: 'Great quarterback, not great fodder for the internet'

Murray went 17-for-21 passing for 266 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Arizona's 41-10 win over the Rams . He added five carries for 59 yards.

Murray finished with a perfect passer rating of 158.3 and became the second player in NFL history to pass for 250 yards, rush for 50 yards and finish with a perfect passer rating.

Brandt raved about Murray's performance, saying that should end the "frenzy of content making fun of him."

He continued: "Kyler Murray did not miss a single deep pass yesterday. He ran, he eluded, he chucked, he did everything that you want him to do and I also think he ended the absolute three-year feeding frenzy of content making fun of him.

“The short jokes. The video game jokes. I’m going to go all in here. I am going to put my money where my mouth is. It has been brought to my attention that there is a new edition of the Call Of Duty franchise coming out this fall. It is Black Ops 6 and it comes out Oct. 25, so there's already jokes out there about 'enjoy Kyler now … ' That weekend, a couple days later, the Arizona Cardinals play at the Miami Dolphins, a very difficult place to play.

"I’m going to say right now that Kyler Murray is going to be brilliant in that game … and I want you to play this back on 'Good Morning Football' Monday Oct. 28 after the Cardinals at Dolphins game and you will see that the jokes are over. 'The study clause and he's short, ha ha ha!' It's all over."

Brandt ended his segment saying "My game ball goes to great quarterback, not great fodder for the internet, Kyler Murray, you deserve it."

Murray and the Cardinals face the Detroit Lions in NFL Week 3 on Sunday.

I agree that Murray looked great Sunday against the Rams but it is a long season. They play Miami next who has their top QB on concussion protocol. This should be a fairly easy game for the Cards. As I told a close friend who has watched a number of playoff games and Super bowls, a number of these games are won or lost in the 5 minutes. What you do then and how you execute determines if you continue to play or watch the Super Bowl on your couch. Watching Murray in the last 3 .minutes of the Bills game didn't give me hope. He looked clueless and disorganized.
