PlayStation 5 Pro and 30th anniversary edition: Here's how to order

You thought you were only getting the PlayStation 5 Pro preorder today and that was it? Think again.

PlayStation is marking the 30th anniversary of its original console with a brand-new limited-edition collection of PS5 consoles and accessories.

To celebrate, PlayStation is releasing a special version of the PS5 Pro console and accessories that feature throwback design elements along with a legacy color scheme that pays homage to the original PlayStation console.

That’s not the only way PlayStation is making these limited-edition consoles special.

Each Limited Edition PS5 Pro console will have an individual number marking it as a collector’s item. Only 12,300 numbered consoles will be sold.

How to get a 30th anniversary PlayStation

The 30th anniversary PlayStation Pro went up for pre-order on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 a.m. Arizona time and it sold out within seconds, according to ign.com .

To no one's surprise and the dismay of PlayStation gamers everywhere, scalpers are already posting their limited edition consoles on resell websites like eBay at a much higher price than the already expensive $999.99 that PlayStation was selling them for.

What's included in the 30th anniversary PS5 Pro bundle?

Not only will the 30th anniversary edition of the PS5 Pro pay homage to the original PlayStation console, but it also comes in a bundle with some pretty great bonuses:

• Limited edition PS5 Pro console.
• Limited edition DualSense Edge wireless controller.
• Limited edition DualSense wireless controller.
• Limited edition DualSense charging station.
• Limited edition console cover for disc drive.
• Limited edition vertical stand.
• Original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing.
• 4 PlayStation shapes cable ties.
• PlayStation sticker.
• Limited Edition PlayStation poster (one of 30 possible designs).
• PlayStation paperclip.

When can I pre-order a PS5 Pro?

To get your hands on the regular PS5 Pro coming out, you'll need $699.99 and to head over to PlayStation Direct and enter your PlayStation Network account information.

Then you'll be added to an online queue that refreshes automatically. If selected, you'll be given a timed window to preorder the console of your choosing and any accessories you want.

While the people who preorder on the official PlayStation storefront will get first dibs, select retailers will open for their own preorders on Oct. 10.

Target, Walmart, Best Buy and Amazon will take preorders for the PS5 Pro on Oct. 10 on their websites.

PS5 pro sold out?

The 30th anniversary edition of the PS5 Pro sold out in seconds on Thursday but the PS5 Pro still has plenty of stock. You can preorder on the PlayStation website or wait until retail preorders begin on Oct. 10.
