Devin Booker, Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen and Josh Okogie out for Suns preseason game at Nuggets

Phoenix Suns players Devin Booker, Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen and Josh Okogie won’t play in Sunday’s preseason game at Denver, Suns coach Mike Budenholzer said after Saturday’s practice.

Nurkic has yet to play in the preseason as he was due for a re-evaluation Saturday on his left middle finger based on last week’s timetable the team provided. Mason Plumlee has been starting for Nurkic.

“He’s making good progress,” Budenholzer said about the 7-footer Nurkic. “We feel good about it. He won’t play (Sunday), but we’re happy with how he’s progressing.”

Booker missed Friday’s preseason loss to the Detroit Pistons with right ankle soreness. He was working with the staff after Saturday’s practice at the team’s practice facility.

The All-Star guard played in the first two preseason games. Rookie Ryan Dunn got his first start Friday for Booker.

Allen missed a second preseason game Friday with Achilles soreness after being listed out Tuesday’s game against the Pistons at Michigan State for personal reasons.

Allen did play in the preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers in Palm Desert.

As for Okogie, he experienced hamstring tightness in Friday’s game. He’s played in Phoenix’s first three preseason games.

“They’re all kind of in different stages or whatever it is, but I think all where we expected,” Budenholzer said.

The Suns wrap up preseason play Oct. 17 against the Lakers at Footprint Center.

They play their season opener Oct. 23 at the Los Angeles Clippers.
