'I'm going to start killing you all': Arizona man accused of threatening FBI agents

An Arizona man was indicted this week for sending threatening messages to the FBI.

According to a complaint filed in federal court, Ishmael Hart threatened to kill FBI agents in messages sent to the FBI National Threat Operations Center in West Virginia.

Hart first accused the FBI of following him and trying to “unalive” him in September. In subsequent messages, Hart threatened the agency to respond to him “or I’m going to start killing you all. Only the bad.”

On two occasions earlier that month, Hart came to the Phoenix FBI offices where he was observed walking the perimeter, claiming to have been kidnapped, becoming “irate” with security, and refusing to leave the property.

Hart was arrested and interviewed by agents at the Phoenix FBI offices, where he acknowledged sending the threats, according to the complaint. Hart told investigators he was frustrated with a lack of response to his allegations of kidnapping.

According to criminal records, Hart was previously arrested in Kentucky in 2018 for carrying a concealed weapon, and in Tennessee in 2021 for domestic violence. Phoenix police detained Hart in 2023 and transported him to a mental health facility.

On Tuesday, a grand jury charged Hart with one count of Interstate Threatening Communications.

He is set to be arraigned in federal court on October 30.
