NFL playoff picture Week 7: Chiefs, Chargers, Broncos give AFC West 3 playoff contenders

We are close to the midpoint of the NFL regular season.

A lot is still left to be played out on the field, but which NFL teams have put themselves in a position to make the NFL playoffs entering the NFL Week 7 schedule ?

We've already written about the dominance of the NFC North , which is currently in position to have three teams in the NFL postseason ( Minnesota Vikings , Detroit Lions , Green Bay Packers ), but that isn't the only NFL division currently in position to have three teams land a playoff berth.

After the Denver Broncos ' win over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, the AFC West is also currently in position to have three postseason teams: The Kansas City Chiefs , Los Angeles Chargers , and Broncos.

That means that if the NFL postseason began today, six of the 14 teams that make the playoffs would come from those two divisions.

There are eight NFL divisions, four in the NFC and four in the AFC, with each division winner earning a playoff berth in each conference along with the three non-division winners with the best records in that conference earning wild-card bids into the postseason.
