Crusaders for Children Michigan to hold Family Fun Day to unite the community
A family- oriented event will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Covenant Hills Camp and Retreat in Otisville. The festivities are being sponsored by The Crusaders for Children Michigan, along with help from many local businesses. The non-profit organization was originally scheduled to participate in the Blueberry Festival in Otter Lake this weekend but opted to withdraw. Several vendors quickly followed suit after learning of the circumstances which were reported on earlier this week by the Tribune; the Crusaders then quickly went to work to secure a new location.
Remembering Meta Jackson and her fair legacy
CARO — To say the least, Walt and Meta Jackson were longtime backers of the Tuscola County Fair. Tuscola County Fair Board President Neil Jackson, of Caro, along with his brothers Gale Jackson and Myron Jackson, and sister Bonnie Carolan, lost their mother in May at the age of 89. Meta Jackson was a well-known Caro resident who forged quite the history with the Tuscola County Fair.

CARO — Madelyn Bennett came to show her lambs this week at the Tuscola County Fair. Sheyla Alvarez came to sell french fries. Thousands of others, however, are heading to Caro to just have fun. The Tuscola County Fair, a tradition for more than 140 years, continues from today through Saturday night.

Woman misses chance to avoid jail
CARO — One could say Rachel L. Parrish received a break when a judge delayed her sentence for one year, keeping her out of jail. But Parrish, 32, of Caro, didn’t take advantage of the situation. Last week a judge ruled Parrish “did not successfully complete her delay of sentence,” and tossed her in jail for 180 days – with credit for 74 days served.

Choice Farm Market in Webberville created a corn maze in the shape of Dan Campbell's face. This comes after Campbell, the head coach of the Lions, led the team to its best season in 32 years.
