More Pennsylvania children to receive free school meals this year
PENNSYLVANIA, USA — More Pennsylvania schoolchildren will be receiving free school meals this year thanks to an expansion of a national funding program. The threshold for the national Community Eligibility Provision for free school meals will decrease this year. Only 25% of students in a school district will now have to be eligible for free meals for the district to qualify for additional federal funding. The threshold was previously 40%.

(KDKA) -- Wawa will open its first store in central Pennsylvania next month.The gas station and convenience store chain announced on Monday that it will open its location in Middletown on Sept. 19. Cornell looking to take program to new heights despite tough conference schedule
Not too long ago, the Cornell football program was shut down. From 2012-15, it was part of a co-op with Quaker Valley. Since then, Cornell coach Ed Dawson has been along for the ride. After a breakthrough 9-2 campaign in 2019, the football program was on the rise. In three of the past five seasons, Cornell has won at least eight games, amassing nine victories twice (2019 and 2021).

Several guest stars from Band Together Pittsburgh will take over the mic, and drums, during an autism-friendly performance Saturday at Greensburg Music Fest. Performers who are on the autism spectrum will provide three opening acts for The Nied’s Hotel Band at St. Clair Park. Members of the band plan to take a break during certain songs to allow four vocalists and drummer to take over, said Lisa Hnath, who does event planning and fundraising for Band Together Pittsburgh.
