MINNESOTA (Valley News Live) - Governor Tim Walz authorized the Minnesota National Guard to provide public safety support for the 2024 Republican National Convention. The convention, which is being held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 15 through July 18, has been designated as a national special security event by the United States Department of Homeland Security due to the scale of security operations required.
1 dead, 1 hospitalized after separate drowning incidents in Clearwater County
CLEARWATER COUNTY - A 70-year-old Ponsford woman has been pronounced dead and a child has been hospitalized following separate incidents this weekend in Clearwater County. According to a release from Clearwater County Sheriff Darin Halverson, at 4:16 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, dispatch received a call reporting that a person was found unresponsive in the water on Long Lost Lake in southern Clearwater County. The caller noted that CPR was in progress.
