Has closed at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. Its space next to the Apple Store has been cleared out of merchandise. A sign on the door provides a number to call for deliveries, so it appears they haven't fully vacated the premises yet. However, the logo signage outside the store is gone.

The 2024 regular season will near its end as the Hawkeyes make one final road trip to College Park, Maryland to take on the Terrapins. The Iowa Hawkeyes have met Maryland in four games, all since Maryland joined the Big Ten. 1 dead in DC shooting near Sycamore and Oak shopping center
WASHINGTON — Police are still searching for suspects in a shooting that left a man dead near the Sycamore and Oak shopping center in Southeast D.C. Sunday evening. Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 1200 block of Oak Drive Southeast for a reported shooting just before 6 p.m. When officers got to the scene, they found a man shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified the man killed pending notification of next of kin.

Virginia Girl Scouts help sew heart-shaped pillows for cancer patients | Get Uplifted
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A group of young women doing their part to spread joy and healing is helping us get uplifted. Back in April we featured volunteers who have gathered to sew heart-shaped pillows for some hospital patients. For nearly a decade, volunteers from the Woodbridge Women's Club have gotten together to craft pillows for cancer and surgery patients at the Sentara Cancer Network Resource Center in Woodbridge.

Since I was a teenager, I’ve been an early riser. In college I would sign-up for the 7:00 AM labs and, as much as possible, schedule all my classes before noon. Thus, as a freshman at the University of Maryland, I was reading a textbook the afternoon of November 22, 1963, in my third-floor dorm room when someone came running down the hallway pounding on doors and yelling “President Kennedy’s been shot in Dallas!” The only television in our building was in a ‘common room’ located in the basement. I arrived there before Walter Cronkite announced the President had died. Newscasters were still saying the President had been rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound. Intuition told us John Kennedy had been killed.
