Bainbridge, Georgia, May 29, 2024 – Memorial Hospital and Manor announces the retirement of CEO Jim Lambert, effective September 15, 2024. Lambert, who joined the hospital in November 2017, led the institution through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic while focusing on improving patient care, quality, customer service, and financial stability.

Lambert’s tenure saw significant improvements in patient care quality and customer service standards. His strategic leadership ensured the hospital’s financial stability, enabling continued growth and investment in healthcare infrastructure and staff development.

“It has been an incredible privilege to serve as the CEO of Memorial Hospital and Manor,” said Lambert.  “Together, we have achieved some remarkable milestones, overcome tremendous challenges, and made a positive impact on the lives of countless patients and their families. I am immensely proud of the progress we have made in advancing healthcare, fostering innovation, and providing exceptional care to our community.  None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the unwavering dedication and commitment of our Board, leadership team and exceptional staff,” expressed Lambert.

“On behalf of the Hospital Authority, we are so grateful for Jim’s leadership over the past seven years. Jim is always quick to recognize the contributions of our medical staff and the entire team at Memorial during his tenure, but we know his guidance, integrity, and knowledge were the key elements to the progress made in just a few short years. All the pillars of our mission have improved under his leadership – quality, finances, community outreach, staffing and staff relations, and growth. While we regret losing him at Memorial Hospital and Manor, we wish him much happiness in the future and the joy of being near his family.” Glennie Bench, Chair of the Hospital Authority Board

The Board of Directors will initiate a search for his successor to ensure a seamless transition.
