FSU football: 3 major areas defense needs to improve in 2024
I am a long-time supporter of FSU defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, understanding the early years were a combination of the pandemic halting player development in the scheme, lack of elite talent, and overall lack of roster depth. The 2023 season saw most of those deficiencies eliminated for the most part, and FSU fielded a top 10 defense(No. 10) according to FEI advanced metrics. The defense carried FSU once Jordan Travis's injury happened and would have stacked up well against any team in the College Football Playoff. The people who were critical of Adam Fuller going into the season praised him in December.

Another week, another batch of books for your TBR pile. Happy reading, folks. “As a mystery, Grames’s novel is as gripping as they come; it’s also a deeply satisfying character study of an outsider learning more about a place than she’d bargained for.”. –Publishers Weekly. Mark Billingham,...

'Floodgates' open: Local campaigns using more and more text messages to reach voters
Those text message blowing up your cellphone may just be from one of the candidates or political committees hoping to get your attention and your vote in the 2024 election. More than 15 billion political text messages went out in 2022 — a huge increase from the previous year and one of the ramifications of a U.S. Supreme Court decision that relaxed federal consent requirements on such missives.

North Carolina went 8-5 during the 2023 season. They went 4-4 against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. They finished the season on a three-game losing streak. UNC opened the season with six consecutive wins. The good start began in Charlotte, N.C., when they defeated South Carolina (31-17). Next came a victory at home over Minnesota (31-13), a road victory at Pitt (41-24), and back-to-back home victories over Syracuse (40-7) and Miami (41-31).
FSU’s 2024 Position Preview Series, Defensive Back: Your strength on defense
FSU's secondary should be good thanks to several foundational pieces, and it could be great. Florida State's secondary figures to be the strength of the team, perhaps the roster, in 2024. High expectations surround the defensive backfield despite the Seminoles losing three veteran starters from last year's elite pass defense,...

Rain sticking around through much of the week
DOTHAN, ALA. (WDHN)–Rain will refuse to go away across the Wiregrass as more showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Wiregrass. The stalled front we have been dealing with refuses to move and that has helped initiate more thunderstorms across the area.
