Excavator will load salvaged stones from Central Building into trailers

More than 200 chunks of tuffstone from the dismantled Central Building, which was gutted by a fire on May 22, will be offered to the public for free on Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Baker Technical Institute, which had been overseeing renovations at the 106-year-old building prior to the fire, has stockpiled the stones at its property south of Hughes Lane and west of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The property is just north of the soccer fields at the Baker Sports Complex.
