Baker City has been the county seat of Baker County — and the site of its courthouse — since 1868. But the city wasn't the first county seat. Auburn had that distinction from 1862, when the Oregon Legislature created Baker County, until 1868, when county voters made the change. Baker City Herald

A jury in Baker County Circuit Court acquitted a Baker City man on the most serious charge of first-degree burglary and on a felony theft count, but found him guilty of one other felony count and one misdemeanor after deliberating for several hours on Thursday, Sept. 26.

The jury found Cory Dustin Trebilcock, 32, guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a Class C felony, and first-degree criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor.
