Demonstrators place upside down American flags at Polo Park

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — This Fourth of July, American flags have been intentionally placed upside down at Polo Park in northwest Bakersfield.

Organizers of the demonstration — none of whom wanted to share their names or go on camera — told 17 News, dozens have stopped by since around 7 a.m. They say it’s their way of saying the country is in distress.

They said they are upset about the state of the nation and are looking for a new president and said they support GOP nominee former President Donald Trump.

Each flag had a note detailing other concerns.

The organizers said out of respect for Independence Day, they’re also flying their tallest flag, in the upright position.
