    Man arrested after firing gun early Friday: KCSO

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Deputies arrested a man early Friday who fired a gun then hid when authorities arrived at his northwest Bakersfield home, according to a sheriff’s release.

    The man, 23, was arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a gun, possession of a short-barrel rifle, carrying a loaded gun in public, possession of high-capacity magazines and obstruction, according to the release.

    Deputies were sent to a home on Batch Lane around 1 a.m. to a report of shots fired. Batch Lane is north of Rosedale Highway and east of Allen Road.

    The man hid on his property and was found and taken into custody, according to sheriff’s officials. He’s being held on $45,000 bail.
