    Bakersfield Fire Dept. rescue two pets from duplex fire on Pinons Springs Circle

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Fire Department is investigating a fire that tore through a duplex in southwest Bakersfield Tuesday afternoon.

    The duplex fire broke out on Pinon Springs Circle around 3 p.m. Smoke and flames were billowing from the garage by the time BFD arrived. BFD quickly accessed the home to battle the scorching hot flames.

    “There was a large amount of heavy smoke and fire from the garage, crews made quick access to the building and got lines in place and were able to extinguish the fire and most of the damage was confined to the garage portion of the house,” BFD Battalion Chief, Alexander Clark said.

    Miraculously, no one was hurt, including two pets, which firefighters rescued from the home, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department.
