BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Houchin Community Blood Bank made a splash during their 2nd annual Summer Social and fundraiser on Saturday.

On July 20, people were dunked at the Bolthouse Donor Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event benefits the Houchin Heartbeats High School Scholarship Program and offered up food, a celebrity dunk tank, live music and more to visitors.

One of the dunkees is happy to support high school students going to college.

“You know, it’s just a beautiful day to be in a dunk tank. The water was nice and cool,” said Kevin Burton, with Klein DeNatale Goldner law firm. “Trust me, it was nice and cool. I was probably dunked at least 22 times.”

Proceeds from the event go to Kern County High School District students to offset the high cost of college.
