BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Delilah Love, a young Bakersfield girl who battled cancer for more than half of her life died Sunday.

Samantha, Delilah’s mother, announced her death on social media.

Delilah was 9 years old and she would have turned 10 on Sept. 21.

Delilah was only 4 years old when she started complaining of leg pain. After months of tests and scans, Delilah was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma.

She underwent more than two dozen rounds of chemo over two years.

Delilah went viral a few times for the love and support she received. Delilah was even surprised when the lead singer from the band The Plain White T’s, Tom Higgenson, sang Delilah’s favorite song to her in the hospital in Los Angeles.

She also got to take to the field with the Los Angeles Rams cheerleaders, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
