Olympic themed ‘Family Fun Night’ set for Friday at McMurtrey Aquatic Center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — With Kern County’s fifth heat wave in full effect , McMurtrey Aquatic Center will be hosting the last “Family Fun Night” event of the summer on July 26 to help you and your little ones stay cool.

More than 500 people showed up to last week’s event for a pirate-themed Family Fun Night.

This week, Bakersfield Recreation and Parks will focus on bringing Olympic-themed swimming games and activities to the aquatic center from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will also feature interactive games for all ages.

The family-friendly event guarantees fun for all and won’t break your bank account with admission priced at $5 per person. You can find the center at 1325 Q St.
