BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield man arrested in a March child sex sting has pleaded no contest to arranging to meet someone he believed was 15 for sex, according to court records.

Mike Hernandez Jr. entered a no contest plea on Friday. Two other felony counts were dismissed, records show.

Hernandez contacted a decoy account used by undercover detectives on a social media application, according to a probable cause declaration. After acknowledging he was communicating with a 15-year-old, Hernandez arranged a meeting to engage in a sex act, according to the declaration.

Detectives arrested him March 5 in northwest Bakersfield. Charges were filed two days later.
