    4 arrested on suspicion of DUI in Bakersfield PD checkpoint

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Three people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and one person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs during a Bakersfield police checkpoint.

    Officials with the Bakersfield Police Department said during the checkpoint on July 26 in the 700 block of Monterey Street a total of 367 vehicles were screened.

    Police say a total of 15 vehicles were impounded, four vehicles were held temporarily due to license violations, but they were released to their registered owner at the scene and 18 drives were cited due to license violations.

    In addition to the checkpoint, additional officers were deployed in the neighborhood surrounding the area.
