Ball Ground Brewery Looking to Sell Wine

Customers at Rock Solid Brewing in Ball Ground may soon be able to order wine there.

The Ball Ground City Council unanimously voted July 11 to approve the second and final reading of a request by Rock Solid Brewing Co. to obtain a local license to serve wine on the premises.

Now that the council has finalized Rock Solid Brewing’s local license, the brewery can apply to the state for a Georgia farm winery license to allow the company to sell wine on the premises.

A local license had to be issued first before Rock Solid Brewing could apply for a state license, Ball Ground City Manager Eric Wilmarth said. A state license must be obtained by a company to sell its own wine or wine produced by another company, winery or brewery.

Rock Solid Brewing is located at 345 Gilmer Ferry Road in downtown Ball Ground.
